Kwara Police Parades Medical Doctor for Allegedly Raping Patients

The Kwara state Police Command has arrested a Medical Doctor one Ayodele Joseph who allegedly specialise in sedating and raping patients in his hospital in Ilorin.

Parading the suspect at the Police headquarters in Ilorin, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Paul Odama said thirteen other suspects have also been arrested for committing crimes such as cultism, armed robbery and ritual.

According to him, “on the 5th of May, this year , one female victim (Name Withheld) a nurse by profession reported to the Police that she went to Ayodele Hospital Sawmill Area, Lagos Road, Ilorin for surgery.

He said the Chief Medical Director of the hospital one Dr. Ayodele Joseph during the treatment sedated the patient which makes her become unconscious.

Mr Odama said before the sedation, fearing any mishap, the patient activated her telephone and placed it in a vantage position to record the surgery unknown to the doctor, before the expected surgery.

He explained that the patient woke up from sleep after the surgery to find herself fully naked, adding that when viewing the recorded video, she discovered that the said Dr. Ayodele Joseph had an unlawful sexual intercourse with her while under sedation.

The Commissioner noted that investigation led to the recovery of the video recording of the sexual action of the said doctor on the victim which was also corroborated by the medical examinations conducted on the victim.

He said the suspect Dr. Ayodele Joseph had of recent been arraigned in court by the Police over unprofessional conduct which resulted in the death of one Nneka Akanike at his hospital .

Mr Odama maintained that the remaining thirteen suspects were arrested in different part of the state over offences ranging from armed robbery,cultism and being in possession of hard drugs, as well as performing money making rituals.

He said all the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
