Arapaja, Ige Commend Makinde, OYSIEC Over Peaceful Conduct of LG Elections

The Deputy National Chairman (South). of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and a chieftain of the Party in Ibadan South East Local government, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige have commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC)) over the peaceful conduct of chairmanship and councillorship election held across the 33 local government areas today.

In their separate remarks while speaking with journalists shortly after casting their votes at Wards 2 and 8 in Ibadan South East local government, they expressed satisfaction with the arrangement put in place including the presence of security to forestall any break down of law and order.

According to Arapaja “this election to the best of my knowledge is free, fair and credible. People have come out to exercise their franchise and cast their votes for candidates of their choice without molestation.

I can tell you and will keep saying it that some people were there for eight years and controlling the affairs of this state and only organised the local government election once at the twilight of their tenure.

Now, this is the second local government election organised by Engr. Seyi Makinde administration and the oppositions are still complaining about it. I don’t know what they are complaining about Even during their time people were not giving the opportunity to come out at all.

I can also tell you that the opposition are not on ground at all in this Oyo State where Engr Makinde is performing everyday. I will keep saying it that he is the best performing Governor Oyo State has ever had.

We all knew what happened in the not too far 2023 general election result in Oyo state when PDP wont 28 out of 32 State Assembly seats with APC won the remaining four from Oke Ogun zone. PDP cleared all the polling units in Ibadan zone including that of their gubernatorial candidate.” Arapaja said.

Hon. Ademola Ige on his part expressed optimism that all the PDP candidates will emerge victorious when the election results were announced.
