Suspected internet fraudster kills two, injures four in Ondo accident

Two people were on Sunday evening killed while four others were injured in a motor accident, which occured in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo state.

The crash which involved a Toyota Camry and a tricycle around NEPA, Ademulegun road left two of the occupants of the tricycle dead on the spot.

It was gathered that the driver of Toyota Camry, suspected to be an internet fraudster, who was driving on top speed rammed into the tricycle, killing the driver of the tricycle and a passenger and injuring others.

The driver of the vehicle bolted away immediately from the scene after killing the two people, and this infuriated the residents of the community who set the vehicle ablaze.

An eye witness explained that the driver of the vehicle was on top speed during downpour and lost control of the vehicle before ramming to the tricycle.

Men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who visited to the scene of the accident, rushed the injured to the hospital and deposited the corpses at the morgue.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident. She said two people died in the accident while four people were injured

Odunlami said the identity of the suspect is still unknown and said “I cannot confirm if the driver of the vehicle is a Yahoo boy or not.”

She said police from the command had commenced investigation into the matter to apprehend the driver of the vehicle.
