Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has on Friday reappointed and sworn in seven commissioners in the state.

Governor Makinde had earlier forwarded the names of the commissioner-nominees to the Oyo State House of Assembly before they were confirmed by the House.

While inaugurating the commissioners at the Governor’s office in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday, the governor, also assigned them their portfolios.

Speaking, Governor Makinde said the names of the remaining commissioners would soon be made public.

The governor urged the reappointed commissioners to explore more innovative ways to deliver on their mandate and positively touch the lives of the good people of the state.

He further charged the new commissioners to discharge their duties effectively.

However, six of the reappointed commissioners retained their former ministries, while the immediate past Commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Faosat Ajoke Sanni, was deployed to the Ministry of Special Duties.

The reappointed commissioners are Mr. Akinola Ojo (Finance); Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo, SAN (Justice); Chief Bayo Lawal (Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters) and Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin (Public Works).

Others include Mr. Ayansiju Lawal (Establishment and Training); Mr. Temilolu Ashamu (Energy and Mineral Resources) and Mrs. Faosat Sanni (Special Duties).

The latest development is coming five weeks after Governor Makinde sacked the Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka, and 17 Commissioners in Oyo State.
