Couple beats daughter to death in Osun, Osogbo Masquerade clash

A 43-year-old man identified as Sanjo and his wife are now being quizzed by the Osun State Police Command for allegedly beating their daughter to death in Osogbo, the state capital over incessant crying.

The couple who were reportedly arrested after a tip-off from neighbours that the duo had committed an inhuman act, said to have buried the deceased on their farmyard in the town.

Investigations revealed that the couple’s case was reported to the state Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs, Olubukola Olaboopo before being handed over to the police.

Speaking on the incident, the commissioner via a statement by the spokesperson of the ministry, Bolarinwa Adereti, said the evil perpetrators would face the wrath of the law.

Olaboopo, thereafter vowed that the perpetrators will not go unpunished as the current administration under the leadership of Governor Oyetola would not condole criminal acts in the state.

Meanwhile, a top police officer in the state police command affirmed that the couple would not go scot-free as efforts are being made to get to the root of the matter.

He stressed that, in no distance time, after investigations, the appropriate action would be taken to right all wrongs concerning the killing of the innocent soul.
