No Controversy About the Next Olubadan – Ladoja

The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has said that there is no controversy in the appointment of new Olubadan that will succeed the late Oba Lekan Balogun who passed on yesterday night at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, adding that Olubadan in council will embark on the coronation process of new Olubadan immediately after the burial of late Olubadan, Oba Balogun.

Ladoja who is the former Governor of Oyo State stated this while speaking with newsmen at the lying in state held in honour of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland at Mapo hall, Oja Oba Ibadan this afternoon.

The lying in state was organised to allow dignitaries to pay last respect to the late monarch who died at the age of 82.

Senator Rashidi Ladoja who described Olubadan stool as not vacant, stressed that the Ibadan traditional system remained unchanged.

Ibadan chiefs, religious and market leaders, government functionaries, sons and daughters of Ibadanland including the Maye Olubadan, Chief Lekan Alabi, Engr Dotun Sanusi, Senator Kola Balogun and family members of the late Olubadan.

Also speaking with newsmen, Maye Olubadan, Chief Lekan Alabi, praised the ancestors of Ibadanland who established the well organized and unshakable traditional system.

Chief Alabi who urged Ibadan indigenes to take solace in the fact that Oba Balogun lived a meaningful life called for maximum support for the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Prayer was later offered for the repose of the deceased and the family he left behind
