A youth group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency, has cautioned the Lawmaker that represents the said constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin to stop creating further crisis within the party in the said federal constituency or else he will go into political oblivion.
The youth group speaking under the umbrella of Ibadan North East/South East PDP Youth Alliance in a statement on Friday, signed by the leader of the group, Ayoola Oladipo warned the Lawmaker to desist from further using his position to create crisis in the party or they will expose all the atrocities he is committing to the public.
The group was reacting to a statement written by a faceless individual where he narrated the story of shameless act of disrespect for the party leaders displayed by Hon. Agboworin during the grand finale of the campaign rally in the said federal constituency held at Mapo hall on wednesday 24th April, 2024.
The group said it read with dismay the concocted narration of the scenario of what transpired at the Mapo rally in favour of Hon. Agboworin by the faceless writer.
The statement reads thus: We were taken aback with the act of rascality displayed by Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin during the grand finale of our campaign rally at Mapo on Wednesday.
To set the record straight, Hon. Agboworin to the best of our knowledge has never made any impact or contribution to the campaign activities of the party since Friday 12th April when the party commenced its ward to ward campaign.
He was never in support of the reelection of the candidate of our party in Ibadan South East local government and even held several clandestine meetings with the opposition members and his supporters to work against the party that made him what he is today. We have facts and evidences to substantiate this claim.
Hon. Agboworin who has never supported the party since the inception of our campaign on 12th April only showed up at the grand finale to foment trouble and display act of rascality which he is known for.
Contrary to the clam by his faceless writer that a particular leader shunned him when he mounted the podium, Hon. Agvoworin was the one that failed to recognized the leaders he already met on the seat because he believe he is above every body in that constituency because of his position as federal lawmaker.
Since 2019 that when he became a federal lawmaker, he has arrogated the leadership position to himself and therefore sees himself as superior to other known leaders of the party in the entire constituency.
It is sheer hypocrisy to expect from others what you also lack.
We recall that Hon. Agboworin has been making frantic effort to polarise the party since 2019 and had it been that a free and fair primary election was allowed to pick candidate in 2022, Hon. Agboworin would have lost re-election ticket for a better candidate.
Similarly, Hon. Agboworin narrowly won his second term election because of the general acceptability of our overall leader, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde in his first term tenure.
We want to remind Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin that pride goes before downfall. He should therefore retrace his step if he don’t want ‘to go into political extinction.
