INEC Sets Feb. 3 for Re-Run Election in 2 Polling Units of Saki West LG

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set Saturday February 3rd, 2024 to conduct re-run elections in two of the polling units of Saki West local government for the House of Assembly in Oyo State.

This was made known in a release made available to newsmen today by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oyo State, Dr Adeniran Rahmon Tella wherein he stated that the two affected polling units areas are: Registration Area Ogidigbo/kinnikinni – 006; affected polling unit – Odo-Osun 006 with 750 registered voters and Sepeteri/Bapon – 011; affected polling unit – Ogbalanja – 019 with 554 registered voters respectively.

Dr Adeniran Tella stated further that only eligible voters with their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) registered in the two polling units stated above would be qualified to vote on election day.

He added that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) would be deployed accordingly for accreditation and voting.

Dr. Tella stated further that the re-run election would start from 8.30a.m. and end by 2.30p.m, stressing that only those on queue on or before 2.30p.m. would be given the opportunity to vote.

He, thereafter, urged all participating political parties to commence their campaigns immediately as all forms of campaigns would end on 1st of February, 2024 which is in accordance with the new Electoral Act, 2022.
