Candidates for the National Assembly election under the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have vowed to deliver Oyo State for the Presidential flagbearer of the party in the 2023 general elections.

They made the pledge during the continuation of the strategic meeting facilitated by the Personal Assistant to Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Hon. Muktar Umar Zakari to interface with the party’s candidates and Oyo State Coordinator of Kwankwaso Support groups, Alhaji Sawaba on the campaign strategies to adopt for the coming election held at Calton Gate hotel, Agodi, Ibadan on Sunday.

Giving the assurance were Prince Aderoju Ismail Balogun, Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central district, Hon. Adegboyega Mathew Abioye, candidate for Ogo Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency, Princess Aderonke Rahmat Adedoja (Ara Oluyole), Oluyole Federal constituency, Hon. Nureni Adeshina Salaam, Ido/Ibarapa federal constituency among others present at the meeting.

Speaking on behalf of other candidates at the meeting, Hon. Adegboyega Mathew Abioye popularly called ‘Elder’ said NNPP is waxing stronger as more people from both PDP and APC are willingly joining the party on daily basis especially in his Ogo Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency in Ogbomosho axis of the state, stressing that those that are defecting have been disapointed and have resolved not to be deceived again by their formal political parties.

He assured that they would strengthen their existing relationship and continued to collaborate with other relevant individuals at the grassroots so as to sensitize the people on the agenda and critical areas that NNPP will look into aimed at providing great opportunities and good governance for the people.

In his remarks, Hon. Umar Zakari described all the candidates fielded by the party as competent, reliable and astute politicians that are capable of delivering in their respective constituencies.

He said that Nigerians are already tired of both PDP and APC because they have both been tested and people already know their capability.

According to him, “Nigerians are not better off under the present administration and you will recollect that the problems confronting this country especially the issue of insecurity started from the PDP led government and continued unabated up till this present moment.

Therefore, NNPP has come as an alternative party for Nigerians. Our presidential candidate in person of His Excellency, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has the experience, capacity, energy and everything it takes to govern this country and tackle the myriad of challenges confronting it.” He said.
