Obaseki Appoints Albert Eromosele as Edo Boxing Association Chairman

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has appointed boxing veteran, Albert Eromosele as chairman of the Edo State Boxing Association.

The former Nigerian International, in a letter signed by the Chairman Edo State Sports Commission, Yusuf Ali OLY, was congratulated on his appointment brought about by his active participation and overwhelming achievement in the pugilist trade all through an exciting career that spanned well over 15 years, with the IBA, IBO and IBF Intercontinental junior middleweight belt to show for it.

The Florida Boxing Hall of Fame inductee represented Nigeria at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, the 1991, 1995, 1999 All Africa Games winning the silver medal on all three occasions and another silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1994.

Other notable members of the board includes the 1972 Olympic Boxing Bronze medalist, Isaac Ikhouria who also won the gold medal at the 1973 All Africa Games, Dr Wole Opatola a foremost international sports Journalist, Albert Onolunoso, a former Boxing coach who worked across the country, producing top talents for Nigeria.

The Boxing Association Board alongside 30 other Association Boards were inaugurated by the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki at the Festival Hall inside the Government House, Benin-City on Friday.
