NYSC stops corps members from relocating

COVID-19: NYSC to start vaccinating corps members in camps, NYSC stops relocating, Oyo corps members allowance

No fewer than 1,000 corps members across the country have been restricted from relocating from their states of deployment to other states of choice.

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, made the disclosure while speaking at the 2020 inspectors’ development programme in Abuja on Wednesday.

The NYSC DG stated that the development became necessary after some corps members tried to manipulate the staff of the scheme to get their relocation done, which he said was against the ethics of the scheme.

He further noted that the relocation was free and allowed even though it must be on health, marital or insecurity grounds.

The NYSC boss disclosed that over 1,000 corps members tried to deceive the staff to get their relocations done.

He added that when the move was discovered to be fraudulent, they were canceled and withdrawn.

Ibrahim, therefore, stated that the workshop was to build the capacity of the inspectors and field officers to be effective in their duties.
