The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has pen heartfelt appreciation message to the people of Ibadan South East Local Government area for coming out enmasse to demonstrate their unalloyed love and support for Engr Seyi Makinde and his entourage during the campaign rally held last Tuesday in the said local government area.
Hon Ademola Ige said appreciating the people for the love they displayed during the rally is a necessary thing to do considering the fact that despite the current hardship and agony Nigerians are being subjected to by the APC led federal government, people still troop out in large numbers to identify with the Governor.
Hon. Ige hinted that the people’s action has passed a clear message to the opposition political parties that the people of Oyo state are pleased with the governor and therefore want him to continue beyond 2023.
Hon. Ige equally appreciated top PDP stalwarts that accompanied the Governor during the rally especially his wife, Mrs Tamunomini Makinde, party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, Alhaja Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja, Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi and others.
In the same vein, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has equally appreciated a group known as G-18 for honouring him with a birthday gift presented to him during the said rally held at Adelabu market, Orita Challenge, Ibadan.
G-18 is one of the support groups that is championing the course of Engr. Seyi Makinde re-election for a second term under the leadership of Hon.Dr. (Mrs) Akinsete whose members comprise female aspirants that aspired for various political positions in the build up to the parties primary elections held last year 2022.
The leader of the group, Hon. Dr. (Mrs) Akinsete recalled that the group which started as association of female aspirants was changed to Governor Makinde G-18 by Hon. Ige during their familiarization visit to Ambassador Arapaja’s house at Felele, Ibadan.
Dr Akinsete added that for the exemplary leadership style and being one of the male aspirants that jettison his ambition by stepping down to support the candicacy of an incumbent House of Representatives member, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin to secure the second term ticket, the group decided to appreciate Hon. Ige.
In his response, Hon. Ige commended members of the group among them are Mrs Toyin Balogun – Director of Women Campaign for Governor Makinde re-election and Hon. Mrs Aminat Iyabo Kobiowu for their steadfastness and loyalty despite not realizing their own aspirations, assuring that the group will be adequately rewarded by the Governor during his second term in office.
He, however, urged the electorates to vote massively for the PDP senatorial candidate for Oyo South Senatorial district, Mogaji Joseph Tegbe and Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin in this Saturday presidential and National Assembly election as well as Gov. Seyi Makinde and other State Assembly candidates on Saturday 11th March, 2023.
