Four Eiye, Aiye Cult Members Arrested In Badagry

Four suspected members of Aiye and Eiye cult groups, who have over time been terrorising the Badagry axis in Lagos State, have been arrested.

The suspects, Eighteen-Eleven Media gAthered were arrested in various parts of the locality in a painstaking investigation that lasted weeks, borne out of a series of complaints of cult-related disturbances and killings in the axis.

A statement by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the arrest was a result of “their nefarious and criminal activities plaguing the Badagry area of Lagos State”.

Hundeyin gave the identities of the all-male suspects as 40-year-old Gbenga Fransisco Olanrenwaju (aka Gbengene); 36-year-old Asokere Segun (aka Seriki); 23-year-old Adediran Ibrahim (aka Kush) and 27-year, -old Jimoh Sodiq (aka Irawo), adding that their arrest took the operatives days.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects belong to Eiye and Aiye confraternities. Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of a more comprehensive investigation”, the PPRO said.

Meanwhile, according to the Lagos Police Command spokesman, the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has assured Lagosians that the Command would continue to combat cultism and related crimes towards ensuring lasting peace in the state.
