Flag off Programme: Oyo Lawmaker, Akintayo Appreciates Dignitaries, Constituents

 

The lawmaker representing Oluyole State constituency in the Oyo state House of Assembly, Honourable Waheed Akintayo has expressed his utmost appreciation to all the dignitaries and party faithfuls that attended the official flag off of the health insurance scheme programme he sponsored for 500 people in his constituency area.

Hon. Waheed Akintayo popularly called ‘Ilumoka Presenter’ disclosed that he was particularly happy that despite the fact that there was public holiday declared by the state government on Monday 21st, 2023 people still found time to grace the ceremony to demonstrate their love for him.

According to him, “I appreciate every dignitaries, party faithful and stakeholders especially Engr. Dotun Sanusi who was the Chairman of the occasion, Pastor Sola Akande, the Executive Secretary, OYSHIA Dr. Mahmud Kahn, Hon. Abiola Monsur from Akinyele Constituency 1, Oyo State PDP Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, PDP State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Oluyole Local Government Chairman – Hon. Popoola Settle Olaide and Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Mufu Ogunremi.

Also, the State Youth Leader and Acting PRO, Micheal Ogunsina, Pastor Biodun Popoola, Asst. Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Lasun Salami, Overall PDP Leader, Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige – immediate past Special Adviser to Governor Makinde, Hon. Olumide Akinlade – Former Liaison Officer, Oluyole Federal Constituency, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, Oluyole PDP Chairman, Engr. Akeem Olatunji-former State PRO and PDP Chairmanship Candidate for 2024 council Elections, traditional fathers, league of Imam and Alfas, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and others that graced the flag off ceremony on Monday 21st August, 2023.

Hon. Waheed Akintayo who disclosed that the gesture marks the first major empowerment programme he embarked upon since his inauguration about two months ago, hinted that the initiative is borne out of his passion to put smile on the faces of many people who are suffering in silence with their health condition because of financial constraint to seek medical attention.

He said, “As a lawmaker, obviously my primary responsibility is to represent my people in the House to make laws, formulate policies and move motions that will bring development to my constituency and Oyo State as a whole. But aside this constitutional duty, I am desirous to make people happy and gives hope to the downtrodden. That is my passion, that is my goal.” He said.

Hon. Waheed Akintayo who is the Chairman House Committee on Information, Media, Public Affairs and ICT, lauded the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for the lofty achievement his administration has recorded so far since the inauguration of his Omi Tuntun 2.0 government.
