Communities Pledge Massive Votes for Engr. Seyi Makinde, Omikunle others

Ahead of the upcoming governorship election on Saturday 11th March, 2023, residents of various communities in Ibadan South East Local Government area have expressed their readiness to give overwhelming votes for the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates for Oyo State House of Assembly.

This revelation was made during the house to house, ward to ward and community to community campaign embarked upon by the party’s stalwarts led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige to canvass votes for the PDP candidates.

At each of the communities visited, the residents who are mainly voters without any affiliation to any political parties, took turn to eulogise the Governor for his unprecedented achievements in the area of governance, welfare of workers, quality education, health delivery, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation all geared towards ameliorating the sufferings of the people in the State since he came on board almost four years ago.

They equally lauded him for ensuring that the issue of Yoruba agenda paramount to him which contributed to the overwhelming votes the APC and its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu recorded in the State during the February 25th presidential election.

The residents noted that as the 11 March gubernatorial election approaches, it is pertinent for all lovers of good governance to look beyond the outcome of the said presidential and national Assembly elections and work towards returning Engr Seyi Makinde to complete his second term in office in order to complete the good works he has started.

In all the communities visited, the residents used the opportunity to commend Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige for initiating one project or the other like streetlights, health centers, police stations, boreholes and employment opportunities for the youths when he served as the council Chairman, state lawmaker and equally appreciated the party’s candidate for Ibadan South East Constituency II in this coming election, Hon. Olayinka Omikunle for installing solar electricity in some communities visited as requested.

Others who joined the campaign train included the party’s executive members in Ibadan South East Local Government as well as ward executives Director-General, Yinka Omikunle Campaign Council, Engr. Sina Olapoju, Hon. Modiu Opeyemi – candidate for Ibadan South East constituency I, Oyo South Senatorial youth leader, Taofeek Oladejo and others.
