The Alado of Ado Awaye, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Revd) Ademola Folakanmi has congratulated the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal on their victory at the recently conducted gubernatorial election for a second term tenure.
Oba Folakanmi who described the feat as another history in the annal of Oyo State politics, stressed that Governor Makinde has set a standard of good governance for any administration to emulate.
He stated this during a congratulatory visit he paid to the office of the Governor yesterday wherein he was received by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal.
According to him, “I have come here to extend my warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde on behalf of the entire people in my domain at Ado Awaye and its environs on his well deserved victory at the March 18 governorship poll. I am particularly happy that Iseyin people gave bloc vote to the governor to reciprocate his gesture towards us in Oke Ogun axis in the last 46 months of his government.
Under the Omi tuntun 1.0, Oyo State has made significant progress in many areas be it education, infrastructure development, health care, workers welfare and so on.
Our people are also happy that the Governor has promised during his campaign for second term to make tourism sector as part of his agenda to drive the economy of the State and we are optimistic that the Ado Awaye suspended lake will receive special attention because the governor has not disconnected the town from tourism development in the State.
We want to thank the Governor for his commitment to the development of Ado Awaye in the first tenure and we pray God to continue to grant him success as we move into his second term in office.” He said.
In his remark, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal thanked the monarch and all the people of Iseyin for their overwhelming support for Governor Makinde and other state assembly lawmakers elect, adding that Governor Makinde’s achievements in the first term is just a tip of the iceberg from what he intends to do in his second term.
He solicited more prayers and support for the Governor especially from the royal fathers for him in his quest to take the State to greater heights.
The Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige was also on ground to receive the monarch alongside the Deputy Governor.
