A Lagos based socialite, Ms. Ogbulu Chindinma Pearl has been arraigned before Chief Magistrate Kehinde Ogundare of the Special Offences (Mobile) Court, sitting in Oshodi, Lagos.
Ogbulu was arraigned on a four (4) count charge of distributing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS ) a.k.a Petrol as souvenir during her installation party on the 5th of March, 2022 at Havillah Event Centre, Lagos.
The defendant’s bizarre action was condemned by general public on the social media as it happened when the scarcity of fuel enveloped the nation.
The offences violates section 251(1), 168 (1), 244 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 and Section 195 (2)(b) of the Environmental Management Protection Law of Lagos State 2017.
The defendant was granted bail in the sum of Two million Naira (N2,000,000) and 2 responsible sureties in like sum, address to be verified and 3years tax clearance payment.
The Matter was adjourned till 24th of March, 2022 for trial.
