Paul Onuachu finds scoring boot in Genks big win in Belgium

Paul Onuachu finally got back to his scoring ways after getting among the goals in Genk’s 6-2 win at Zulte Waregem in the Belgian Jupiler on Sunday.

Before Sunday’s game, Onuachu had failed to score in his last six games in all competitions for Genk. Also, he last scored in the league on 26 September when he netted a hat-trick in a 3-0 home win against Seraing.

The 27-year-old got Genk’s third goal in 47 minutes which took his tally in the Belgian topflight to 10 goals in 12 games.

The Nigerian International now has 12 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

With 10 minutes left in the game, Onuachu was taken off for his Nigerian teammate Ike Ugbo.

Sunday’s win saw Genk end a run of three consecutive defeats in the league.

It took them to sixth place on 20 points and are now six points behind leaders Club Brugge.
