Former Super Eagles winger Finidi George has been appointed new coach of NPFL club Enyimba.

Ruler’s World recalls that the former Real Betis and Ipswich Town forward is among the interesting names linked with eight-time Nigerian Champions Enyimba of Aba.

Other details of the appointment are yet to be made public.

He will replace Fatai Osho, whose contract was not renewed.

The immediate task for the former international is to guide Enyimba to reach the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after they placed third on the NPFL table last season.

Finidi,50, has previously been linked with handling one the country’s age-grade teams.

He holds a UEFA B coaching license. In his playing days, he featured for several top clubs like Ajax Amsterdam, Real Betis, Real Mallorca and Ipswich Town.

He played at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups.
