It isn’t quite the Group of Death, but Barcelona will not have an easy ride to the Champions League knockout stages.
After the draw took place in Istanbul on Friday, the Blaugrana have been drawn into Group E and will face Bayern Munich, Benfica and Dynamo Kiev beginning next month.
Barça was in Pot 2 and was almost guaranteed a brutal opponent from Pot 1, and they got the German champions and 2020 European Cup winners.
Bayern beat Barça 8-2 in the quarterfinals 2 seasons ago, so it will be fun reliving that again.
The other two opponents are easier on paper but will be very tough in reality:
Benfica has a good squad and is always strong at home and playing in Kyiv is never easy no matter how good the Dynamo team is — or isn’t.
As Champions of Europe, Chelsea was seeded in Pot one and was last out of the bowl, which meant they were put into the last of the eight groups, Group H.
Chelsea was then joined by Juventus (Pot 2), Zenit (Pot 3), and Malmö (Pot 4).
The full draw is below, and there are some truly tasty games to look forward to in what promises to be a great group stage.
Group A: Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge

Group E: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Benfica, Dynamo Kiev
Group F: Villarreal, Manchester United, Atalanta, Young Boys
