Andy Uba to appeal judgement nullifying his participation in Anambra guber poll

candidate in Anambra guber election

Senator Andy Uba, Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the just-concluded 6th November 2021 governorship election, has said that he and his party, APC will appeal the judgement of Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court that nullified his nomination as the candidate of APC.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that Hon Justice Jane Esienanwan Inyang of federal high court Abuja has ruled today, 20th December 2021, that Andy Uba was never a validly elected candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the just concluded governorship election in Anambra State.

The Courts ruled on the case brought about by aggrieved members of the All Progressive Congress [APC] in Anambra State over the supposed APC direct primary that was held in Anambra State against the 6th November 2021 gubernatorial election.

The court declared that Moughalu, the plaintiff was able to prove that there was no primary conducted in Anambra. It held that APC did not conduct primary election and that Andy Uba should stop parading himself as the APC gubernatorial candidate.

Reacting on the development, the Senator Andy Uba Governorship Organisation(SAUGCO), in statement signed and made available to Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, by Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia, Deputy Director of the group, said while we remain law abiding in the face of the latest development, It is rather not surprising to many that the APGA members could turn themselves as the spokespersons of the Federal High Court with their tented report about the judgment and abuse of our party, APC with a view to blur and distort this grave miscarriage of justice because they(APGA) are to be the direct beneficiaries of judgement.

The APGA part in this script appears very glaring. Of course, they are aware that they have a bad case in the tribunal and are doing everything possible to take Andy Uba and APC out from the tribunal, but they will fail.

“We are not surprised that APGA members are celebrating the Justice Ekwo judgement like a child that received Christmas clothe from his father. They believe that the judgement will stop Andy Uba from proving his petition at the tribunal. The good thing is that this is not the last court in this instant. We are heading to appeal court to prove them wrong.”

We therefore urge APGA led government of Anambra State to keep herself busy with challenges facing the state than investing on ‘Operation Stop Andy Uba’ dance.
