A staff of a first-generation commercial bank, Babatunji Lawal, on Tuesday, told a Kwara state high court in Ilorin, the identity of one of the suspects who withdrew money from the raped and murdered 300 Level student of the University of Ilorin, Olajide Omowumi Blessing.

The bank staff, who was led in evidence by the Kwara state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Salman Jawondo, informed the court that the bank’s CCTV footage captured the image of the sixth defendant, Abdullateef Abdulrahman.

He said the deceased’s money was withdrawn through Kuda Microfinance Bank with the use of the Opay application, adding that a total sum of N50,000 with bank charges was withdrawn.

Lawal, who was the ninth witness in the case was cross-examined by the legal representatives of the first, sixth and eighth defendants.

Another witness, an Inspector of Police at the Department of State Security, Femi Babalola, also testified before the court.

The trial judge, Justice Adebayo Yusuf of the Kwara State High Court, however, adjourned the matter till tomorrow, Wednesday, for the continuation of the trial.

It would be recalled that the deceased, who would have turned 24 years this month, was found dead in her home on June 2, 2021, with her mouth gagged with clothes, hands tied to her back with bruises on her private part and a piece of paper on her chest containing a message: ‘Unilorin doesn’t forgive’.
