Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro and captain of the Portugal national team will not be taking part in the scheduled international friendlies between his country and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Portuguese Coach, Fernando Santos told a press conference in Lisbon that the 5-time Ballon D’Or winner won’t be ready (to face Nigeria.
“He is suffering from gastroenteritis and will not train today for this reason,” Portuguese Coach Fernando Santos told a press conference in Lisbon.
“He won’t be ready (to face Nigeria), he’s resting, as you know, gastritis takes a lot out of players.”
Super Eagles will confront the Qatar World Cup-bound Portuguese later today in Lisbon in their first-ever meet at the senior level.
