Rivers United bounced back to winning ways with a comprehensive performance against Wikki Tourist on matchday 12 of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie decided at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Rivers State.
Ebube Duru, Chijioke Akuneto and Uche Onwuansanya were all on the score sheet as the “Pride of Rivers” sprung to the top of the log with the win.
The NPFL leading goal scorer Ishaq Kayode Rafiu was a notable absentee but the return of safe hands Theophilus Afelokai, Ali Malam Auwal and Chiamaka Madu gave the fans something to cheer.
Technical Manager of Rivers United, Coach Stanley Eguma at the post-match conference emphasized how important it was for his team to bounce back to winning ways.

Rivers United had on matchday 11 lost to Plateau United away in Jos by the odd goal.
Rivers United will be a guest to Abia Warriors in Okigwe on matchday 13.
