Owo Isowo: AbdulRazaq empowers petty traders of Police Officers’ Wives Association

Scores of petty traders in the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Kwara State, have benefitted from a fresh disbursement of grants on Wednesday.

The disbursement is being coordinated by the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP) under its Owo Isowo Scheme, as part of the many empowerment programmes of the State targetted at supporting businesses and stimulating the economy.

The sum of N600 million was earmarked for disbursement to 30,000 women petty traders in replica of the World Bank programme, Nigeria for Women Project.

Thousands of market women and other petty traders across local government areas of the State have also benefitted from the scheme.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq witnessed the grant disbursement to the police officers’ wives, where he made presentation to some of the beneficiaries.

The event was also attended by Kwara State Commissioner of Police Paul Odama; Acting General Manager KWASSIP Abdulquawiy Olododo; Chairperson Police Officers’ Wives Association Mrs Lucy Odama; and Senior Special Assistant on Security Alhaji Muyideen Aliyu.
