Makinde’s aide, Ige mourns late Popoola, says his death a collosal loss to the ruling party

The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has described the death of Hon. Olusegun Popoola, lawmaker that represented Ibadan South East constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly as not only devastating but a collosal loss to the ruling PDP in the State.

Hon. Ige stated this in a condolence message he personally signed and made available to journalists where he condoled with the immediate family member of Hon. Segun Popoola (a.k.a. Popson), his colleagues in the 9th House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, people of Ibadan South East constituency II, Governor Seyi Makinde and indeed the entire PDP family in the State.

Hon. Ige who was among the earlier callers that went to pay condolence visit to late Popoola’s family at Ashipa Akala expressway, Ibadan yesterday, said the news of his death was heart breaking considering the fact that it happened at a time when his experience was moslty needed as the party was preparing for another round of election.

Ige noted that late Popoola as a PDP member that succeeded him as state lawmaker that represented the said constituency, had diligently been carried out his legislative duty as expected of him which had endeared him to many lovers of democracy in the said constituency area until he took ill which resulted in his death last Tuesday night.

Hon. Ademola Ige hinted that though the deceased’s life span was short, his family and loved ones should take solace in the fact that he died while contributing his quota to the service and development of Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.

He prayed God to comfort his family and grant the deceased an eternal rest.
