Maduka Okoye pulls out of Ghana clash

Super Eagles’ first choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye is out of the clash against Ghana due to illness, news from the team’s camp reveals.

The Sparta Rotterdam of Netherland goal keeper was expected to be the pick to be in goal for Nigeria as she engages Ghana in a winner take all World Cup qualifiers in Kumasi and Abuja but the over 6 feet tall goal tender has now called in sick.

The goal keeper, heading to Watford of England at the end of the season, was heavily criticised for conceding the goal against Tunisia which eliminated Nigeria from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroun.

Enyimba FC goalkeeper, John Noble has now been called up as a replacement.
