The Nigerian women national team, the Super Falcons will be without their talismanic striker, Asisat Oshoala for the rest of the Women Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON 2022.
The team’s medical crew declared on Wednesday that Oshoala sustained a Grade 2 Medial Ligament strain in the 6th minute of the encounter with the Banyana on Monday, and would be out of action for between two and three weeks, with another one or two weeks period for recovery.
She is due to fly out of Morocco on Thursday after medics at her club, FC Barcelona Feminine, advised that she return to Spain.
Oshoala had an injury ravaged season with FC Barcelona but still finished the league’s joint top scorer enroute winning the league.
Gift Monday or Uchenna Kanu is expected to replace Oshoala in the starting line up of the Nigerian girls.
