I Will Transform Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency if Elected – APC Rep Candidate, Lafisoye Assures

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency in the upcoming February 25 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections, Hon. Olafisoye Wasiu Akinmoyede has said that his mission is to ensure adequate representation and facilitate quality projects that will bring about accelerated transformation of the said constituency after the 2023 general elections.

Hon. Olafisoye popularly called ‘Lafi’ made this disclosure while featuring on Awa Arawa radio programme anchored by the ace presenter and Chairman of Agidigbo FM station, Oriyomi Hamzat on Saturday.

Hon. Lafisoye pointed out that he remains the best candidate that can represent the said Federal Constituency at this period having garnered enough experience, capacity and deep grassroot connection than any of his opponents that are contesting with him to represent the said constituency.

He maintained that as somebody who has done it before he has a comprehensive knowledge about what every village and towns in the said constituency is yearning for and what could be done that could solve their yearnings and challenges facing them.

He said: I was born into the Gudugba royal family in Lalupon. I attended Ajia Primary School for my primary school education and Lalupon Community Grammar School for my secondary school education. I proceeded to the Polytechnic, Ibadan to study Public Administration and also Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye for my 1st degree in Public Administration as well.

I started my political journey in 1998 as a ward councillor. In 1999, I was also elected as a councillor till 2022. I served as Vice-Chairman till 2006 and in 2007, I was elected as the Executive Chairman till 2011 under the administration of former Governor late Alao Akala. In 2013, I was made the Caretaker Chairman under the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and in 2015, I was elected as a lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly where I represented Lagelu State constituency till 2019 when I sought re-election but as God had wanted it, I lost that election.

In all my life, I have remained a grassroot politician. In Lagelu local government alone, we have 65 Baales and I know all of them and their domain where they are ruling and their boundaries. I have mingled with them and know what they want and they know me because they have tested me and have trust in me.

If you ask any of my opponents, none of them has this experience especially when it comes to connecting with the grassroot to interact with them and know what they want.

When I was serving as a council chairman, I made road infrastructure, education, health, welfare of the workers, youth and widows and rural electrification my utmost priority. Some of my achievements included but are not limited to; tarring of roads at IYANA CHURCH AGBON,JONKU MONATAN in front of Police Station, ENIOSA, LALUPON EJIOKU, LAGUN, OYEDEJI MARKET, 7up-Eleweodo, 2 kilometre road at Kute. On education, I Constructed Three Blocks of Classrooms at AJARA Primary School, Three Blocks of Classrooms at AGE VILLAGE SAGBE, Three blocks of Classrooms at LALUPON CENTRAL SCHOOL, Three Blocks of Classrooms at SUKURU VILLAGE, Construction of Three Blocks of Classrooms  at St. LUKES LALUPON. I reconstructed Maternity health centre at EJIOKU, reconstructed Maternity Hospital at LALUPON, reconstructed Maternity Hospital at OYEDEJI, reconstructed Maternity Hospital at ALEGONGO AKOBO, reconstructed Maternity Hospital at MONATAN ward 1, reconstructed Maternity Hospital at OFFA TOWN,reconstructed Maternity Hospital at ORE APATERE. Not only that, I equally facilitated the construction of general hospital from federal government projects at Olorunda and Abudoro during my regime and on rural electrification, I provided transformers at Alegongo market, Monatan, Jonku, Kute, Lalupon Ejioku, Iyana Offa, Sukuru among other laudable projects that I executed for the benefits of the people in Lagelu local government and its environs.

I have continued to build on all these achievements even outside the office and this has been a reference point to other politicians that came after me.

I believe if I am one of the lawmakers at the National Assembly, I will be able to make laws for the betterment of this country and my constituency in particular. I want to be part of the lawmakers that will make laws for the provision of rotational presidency in the country which will bring about unity and stability.

The Yorubas must not lose another opportunity we have this time around that the presidency has been given to us. This is the reason why I am calling on our people to go out and collect their permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) and vote massively for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the APC candidates for the National Assembly elections on Saturday 25th February, 2023. It is indeed our turn in Yorubaland and we must not miss this opportunity.” Hon. Olafisoye posited.
