Former Makinde’s Aide, Oyekola Emerges PDP Candidate For Atiba State Constituency, Appreciates Leaders, Stakeholders

An ex-aide to the Oyo State Governor, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola has emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Atiba State constituency ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Gbenga Oyekola was elected during the party’s primary election held today in the presence of the men of the Nigerian police, Civil Defense, Federal road safety corps, DSS, INEC and other relevant security agencies.

In his acceptance speech, Oyekola who is the immediate past Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Economic Planning expressed his appreciation to all the leaders and delegates of the party for their support and confidence they reposed in him, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him if elected.

He specifically appreciated the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for the opportunity given to him to serve in his government and accepted his nomination to fly the party’s ticket for Atiba constituency.

He equally appreciated Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), all the state working committees of the party in the State, all the party executives and leaders in Atiba Local Government and his supporters that stood by him during the struggle to clinch the party’s ticket, promising to give the constituency adequate representation after his victory in the 2023 elections.

Hon. Gbenga Oyekola was a member of the 8th Assembly in the 8th where he represented Atiba constituency. He was also a former council Chairman in Atiba local government.
