Emir of Ilorin Urges Muslims to Support Leaders to Overcome Challenges

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has urged Muslim faithful in the Ilorin Emirate to continue to support the nation and her leaders in order to overcome all the challenges in the society.

The Emir also urged them to extend charity and support to the less privileged throughout the month of Ramadan and enjoined them to commence this year’s fasting today (Monday).

He spoke on Sunday night at a joint meeting held by the Ilorin Emirate Council and the Council of Ulama, held at the ancient palace of Ilorin.

This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari spoke to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Garbai Ibn El-Kanemi in order to substantiate the commencement of the 2024 Ramadan fasting today.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari thanked Allah for His mercies on the people of Ilorin Emirate and humanity at large.

He urged Muslim ummah to use the month of Ramadan to move closer to Almighty Allah by engaging in good deeds, charity, humanitarian services, supplications as well as seeking forgiveness at all times.

He however, congratulated them for witnessing another glorious month of Ramadan, stressing that such privilege should be used to foster peaceful co-existence among religions adherents in the state.
