Ademola Ige Leaves Legacy That Can’t be Erased as Council Chairman – Alawode

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government area, Hon. Oluwole Emmanuel Alawode has disclosed that Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige left legacies that cannot be easily forgotten when he served as the Chairman of the said council over 21 years ago.

Hon. Alawode stated this during the special prayer session put together by the Central campaign committee of PDP Arole Omi-Tuntun 2.0 re-election to mark the 55th birthday anniversary of Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige held at Christ Church Primary school, Odinjo, Ibadan yesterday.

The birthday prayer session which turned into a campaign rally for the re-election of Hon. Alawode and all the 12 councilorship candidates witnessed a large turn out of political functionaries, party leaders, party executives from wards to local level, community leaders, religious leaders, artisans, community associations, family members, friends and other well wishers from far and near.

In his tribute to the celebrant at the occasion, Hon. Alawode said Hon. Ige is somebody he holds in high esteem because of his humility,openness, loyalty, experience and pedigree.

He said: When I came into the office as the Chairman in 2019, I looked at the files of all my predecessors, I found out that hon Ige did tremendous things and left behind legacies that will be difficult to forget in terms of achievements. I found out that people loved him because he performed and touched many lives. He is a man of his words. This is one man who knows where the shoes pinches.

When he was chosen as my campaign Director-General, I was so happy because he is an experienced politician. I have absolute faith in him. He knows how to canvass the People and sell our party to the electorates. With him I am rest assured we are already winning the election.”

Alawode who prayed God almighty to grant the celebrant more years of celebration, used the occasion to appeal to any aggrieved party members to sheath their sword and embrace unity in the interest of the party.

Earlier in his remark, the party Chairman, Ibadan South East Local Government, Engr. Suleiman Adesina said the programme was organised to offer prayers for the country, Oyo State and especially all members of central campaign committee and party members that will participate in the campaign rally for a violence free and protection as the party kicks off its campaign for the coming council election in April on Monday 19th February, 2024.

The celebrant, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige said considering the situation in the country, the best thing to do at this crucial time is to offer prayer to God to intercede since leaders at the national level seem to have lost focus and don’t have the wherewithal to lead the country.

While appreciating members of the central campaign committee for organising the prayer programme which coincided with his birthday anniversary, Hon. Ige who is the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land solicited the support and cooperation of all party members for the party’s Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Alawode, his running mate, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji and all the 12 ward councillors, stressing that all the candidates presented by the party were, tested, trusted and have the capacity to deliver.

The prayer session which was offered by both Muslim and Christian clerics was led by the Chief Imam of Omi Tuntun central mosque, Imam Mojeed Olanase for the Muslim while Bishop P.F. Owa of Christ Revival Miracle Church, Adeyemo, Ibadan and Pastor Ayodele Eleko , David family Christian Centre Felele. Ibadan. prayed in Christian way for the celebrant, Oyo State, Nigeria and the campaign committee for Alawode’s re-election.

A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo popularly known as “Ilumoka Presenter”, Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Popoola Settle Olaide, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Mogaji Ademola Oladosu, PDP chairman in Alimosho local government, Lagos, Idowu I.Sho pepper, CDC Chairman in Ibadan/Ibarapa zone, Alhaji F.A.S Oloyede were among the dignitaries that attended the prayer.
