2023: NNPP Has Come To Stay In Oyo State — Party Chieftain, Abioye

A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP) in Oyo State, Hon. Abioye Mathew Adegboyega has said that the party has come to stay and is ready to tackle the rot in the administration of the ruling PDP in the State.

Hon. Abioye stated this while speaking with journalists at Elega Ajaawa in Ogbomoso during the burial ceremony of Pa Olarinde Mathew Akanji yesterday.

Hon. Abioye who a two term lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly where he represented Ogo Oluwa/Surulere State constituency, disclosed that the party was brought to Oyo State to provide a platform for politicians who have fed up and have been sidelined by the two dominant political parties, PDP and APC in the State.

He urged the people to join the ”new movement”, in order to fight for peace, prosperity, accountability and an improved standard of living.

He said “politicians are already fed up with the undemocratic styles being exhibited by both the PDP and APC in the selection of candidates for various elective positions in the State and therefore, NNPP has come to give the aggrieved politicians a platform to realize their ambitions”.

Hon. Abioye further hinted that many people are not happy with the administration of PDP led government in Oyo State in the last three years it came on board and therefore, it was necessary to stop it from continuing in power beyond the 2023.

For us to achieve this we need a new platform, and the citizens must use their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ”as a weapon to vote for a good standard of living”.

”If you desire good standard of living, an opportunity for self-determination and functional government, instead of continuing living in abject poverty then cast your vote for NNPP. Your PVC is the weapon that will liberate you and your family from poverty, insecurity and maladministration.” He said.

Hon. Abioye said that he has absolute faith that the combination of the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and its Governorship candidate for Oyo state, Engr Popoola Olukayode Joshua would not only bring prosperity to the people but will also improve the people’s standard of living if they were giving the opportunities in 2023.

Speaking on the death of late Pa Olarinde at the event, Hon. Abioye said he found it painful that the man had died because of his quality of honesty, transparent, generous and his being frank on issues as a political leader.

He added that late Pa Olarinde would be missed as a man that loved not only his biological children but everybody that he met while on heart.

Late Pa Olarinde died on 12th October, 2021 at the age 105. His burial ceremony and thanksgiving was held on Friday 6th May, 2022 at the Apostolic church Nigeria, Owode district centre, Elega, Ajaawa in Ogbomoso.
