The immediate past Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture in Oyo State, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on his emergence as the new Vice-Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, (NGF) saying the Governor has once again proved himself as a worthy ambassador the State has ever produced with this latest achievement.
Hon. Akeem stated this in a congratulatory message he signed and made available to newsmen wherein he stressed that the leadership skills, competence, experienced and outstanding performance of Governor Makinde in his first tenure have spoken for him to have been nominated by his colleagues for the number two position in the forum.
Hon. Ige expressed confidence that Governor Makinde would work with his colleagues to address myriad of challenges facing the 36 states of the federation and proffer solutions to those challenges.
“I felicitate my amiable boss, Governor Seyi Makinde and wish him all the best as he takes on this new responsibility. I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience, leadership skills, and commitment to the service of the people to bear in this new assignment.”
Hon. Akeem Ige equally used the opportunity to express his utmost appreciation to the Governor for the opportunity given him to serve under his Omi Tuntun 1.0 administration, saying he was happy to be part of the success story recorded by the government which culminated in his historic election for second term in office.
According to him, “I am equally express my utmost and sincere appreciation to his Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the opportunity he gave me to contribute my quota to the development of Oyo State. It is a very rare opportunity which I will never take for granted.
Governor Seyi Makinde is a wonderful and loving boss that everybody would like to work with. I have had the opportunity to work with previous administrations as a council Chairman, Senior Special Assistant , Lawmaker in the State House of Assembly and as the Special Adviser. I can confirm that with my experiences and interactions with all these governments, Governor Makinde stands tall and different. He is down to heart, loving, approachable, accommodating, have listening ears and compassionate.
He is making us proud anywhere even outside the country where he is receiving commendations on daily basis for his tremendous achievements going by my experience during our recent trip to the United Kingdom for Oyo State Business Summit. In him, we now have a leader that can be trusted and projected to reshape Nigeria in future.” Hon. Ige enthused.
While thanking God for his protection over him during the period he served as Governor Makinde’s Adviser on Tourism and Culture, Hon. Akeem Ige who holds the title of Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, enjoined the people not to relent in their prayers and support for Governor Makinde who is poised to make the lives of the citizenry more better and improve their standard of living under his Omi-Tuntun 2.0 administration.
