The wife of the Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government area, Mrs Omolola Alawode has extended her hand of kindness to one of the vulnerable children at Family Health and Population Action Committee (FAHPAC) situated at Orita Aperin Ibadan by donating school items to her in order to lessen her education burden.
The student, Juwon Odunayo Abiodun had earlier approached Mrs Alawode and informed her that she just got admission to a higher institution in Oyo and solicited her assistance to get some items she needed to take to school.
Mrs Alawode who was touched by the plight of the student, immediately took her to the market to get the items needed for her.
While stressing the need to help others, Mrs Alawode noted that many things can be changed if children of the downtrodden are assisted to have access to education.
Speaking at the final of quiz competition organized as part of the 30th anniversary of the organization and memorial of its late founder and president, Princess Bolajoko Suebat Omotosho, Mrs Alawode noted that the organization deserved commendation in view of the fact that in the last 30 years of its existence, it had been promoting the rights of children, youths and women as well as their development.
Mrs Alawode who made cash donation to the foremost charity organization that is catering for the well being of the orphans and vulnerable children, called on well meaning individuals to always come to the aid of this organization in its bid to improve the quality of lives of its target group and sustain its humanitarian services.
Mrs Alawode was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Special Duty, Hon. Kudirat Babatunde.
