When Sack Threat Did The Magic For Imama Amapakabo

Jolted into the realisation of being in the labour market pretty soon, the new Head Coach of Umuahia based football club, Abia Warriors, Imama Amapakabo, appears to have picked up the gauntlet.

Recalled that at the  commencement of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League in December, the team recorded strings of poor results. At some point, it was only able to gather 2 points from 6 matches and placed 19th on the league table.

The club  became deeprooted in the relegation mud despite signing quality players ahead of the new season with a new coach, Amapakabo installed.

After losing four matches consecutively, the management of the club, January, gave the head coach and his technical crew three-match ultimatum to improve the club’s performances or be sacked. The club was able to pick just two points from available 6 (two draws from two matches) afted the directive.

However, all that seem to be in the past as the club seem to have found its footing. The club has recorded one loss (against Dakada FC) in the last 12 matches it has played, winning 7 and drawing.

At as press time, the club occupies the 10th position with 24 points.

Kudos boys! More grease to your elbow.
