We won’t stop fortifying 3SC for NPFL Contest — Balogun assures supporters

The General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Mr. Rasheed Balogun, has assured the club’s supporters that the management of the recently promoted team is not relenting in strengthening the team in readiness for the soccer battles in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Balogun while speaking at a media parley held at the club’s house in Jericho Ibadan, said the management of Oluyole Warriors are doing everything possible within their limits to recruit skillful but affordable players for the team.

The highly experienced football administrator
denied speculations that the team’s management are not preparing well for the new season as their counterparts are doing, stating that since works are going on in rejuvenating the team, he can’t be divulging information on deals yet to be finalized.

He said, “Contrary to what some are saying that we are not doing anything to fortify the team, we are really working round the clock to inject fresh legs into the team. We’re leaving no stone unturned at signing the best available players. And we’re also ensuring that those still valuable among the old players are retained. However, while we’re doing these, we can’t be revealing information on a work still in progress, as situations are changing everyday. It’s like counting our chicks before they are hatched.”

His assertion was corroborated by the team Manager, Dimeji Lawal, who stressed that the management are serious in their preparations for the forthcoming football season.

Also speaking at the media chat, the Chief Coach of the club, Edith Agoye, said the coaching crew are aware of the enormity of the task ahead in the NPFL, assuring that they are striving to produce a formidable squad that will be capable of rubbing shoulders with any other team in the elite division of Nigeria league.

“Last season, we had the best result in NNL. And this result showed clearly that 3SC are too big for NNL. However, we also realized that the team we paraded was not strong enough for NPFL. So we have been trying to strengthen the team in all departments. And I’m assuring our fans that we won’t disappoint them. When the NPFL games commence, we will be among the contenders”, Agoye said.
