Tolulope Akande-Sadipe’s Giant Strides in Oluyole Federal Constituency

Few months from now, it would have been exactly three years when the 9th Assembly of the House of Representatives was inaugurated in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.

Among the honourable members elected and sworn in to represent various federal constituencies in Nigeria was Hon. (Mrs) Tolulope Akande Sadipe who is representing the Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

Since her inauguration as the representative of Oluyole federal constituency in the green chamber, ‘Ogo Oluyole’ as she is fondly called by her admirers, has been rendering good and quality representation to her constituency towards delivering on all her campaign promises she made to the people in the build up to the 2019 general elections.

A fearless and bold woman, Akande-Sadipe has come out many times to challenge the untoward attitude of many Federal Government Agencies, under her purview as the Chairman, House Committee on Diaspora. Beyond the fact that she has stepped on many toes with her many call-outs, she has been a major factor for many achievements of the Federal Government in the Diaspora sector.

Hon. Sadipe has been very vocal and make her voice heard when it comes to issues of security and national development She has sponsored different bills for the development of the nation. Among the Bills she has sponsored to her credit is the Diaspora Voting Bill, which formed part of the agenda for the ongoing constitution review, before the National Assembly.

Still on her primary assignment as a legislator, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has co-sponsored an Act to establish the Federal Capital Territory Signage and Advertisement Agency as the Regulatory Body for outdoor structures. She also co-sponsored an Act to empower the National Assembly and State House of Assembly to make laws to redress social, economic, educational or other imbalance in the society. Many motions that could in fact help refurbish the nation have been raised by this gentle-woman, whose actions are in consonance with her true mind towards her people. Some of the motions she has moved include:

5.Motion on the need to ascertain Nigeria in Diaspora remittances and its impact on the nation’s economy. This has also translated into remittances being paid in the originating currency.
