Super Falcons camp swell ahead Côte d’Ivoire clash

Players continue to arrive at the Super Falcons Abuja camp as the date for the make or break clash with the Lady Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire draws near.

The match, an African Women Nations Cup qualifier, sees Nigeria taking on their Ivorien counterparts for a slot at the biennial championship which will be held in Morocco by the middle of the year.

The Super Falcons as at the last count had 25 players in camp with more players expected from Spain, England and Sweden.

US-based Ifeoma Onumonu, who plays for NJ/NY Gotham FC in the National Women’s Soccer League is already in camp. She played all 24 games for her club, scoring 8 goals with 4 assists last season. She arrived alongside Michelle Alozie of Houston Dash.

She previously played for Reign FC, Portland Thorns FC, and Boston Breakers, all in the US as a forward.

Ngozi Okobi who plays for Swedish club Eskilstuna United DFF made a surprise entry into the bus as the team was about to leave for training Monday morning.

Oluehi Tochi who plays for Maccabi Kishronot in Isreal and has played all 15 games for her team with 7 clean sheets also arrived at the Falcons camp over the weekend. Her team presently is second on the log table in Isreal.
