Henceforth, anybody or group of people who forments trouble within and outside the Lekan Salami Stadium, before, during and after the matches of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), will be arrested and prosecuted.
This was one of the decisions arrived at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting, held specifically for security purposes, with the aim of ensuring hitch free matches, beginning from this Wednesday’s midweek craker against Remo Stars and in subsequent games.
Apparently unhappy with the violence which occurred after the matchday 29 fixtures between the Oluyole Warriors and MFM of Lagos, in which the Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Honourable Gbenga Adewusi Arole was injured, concerned stakehokders and security agencies met on Monday, to deliberate on ways to prevent a recurrence.
The meeting had in attendance, the management of the Oyo State Sports Complex, the management of the Oyo State Football Assocciaton and the management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), as well as the representatives of all security agencies.
At the end of the meeting, which lasted for hours at the Lekan Salami Stadium, the stakeholders agreed on the need to beef up security before, during and after matches, with a strict order to the security personnel to go hard on erring fans.
In order to curb the excesses of some fans, strict security measures will be put in place around the V.I.P area, the state box and the dressing rooms, as anybody without any specific duties, will not be allowed into those areas.
Taking photographs with players, officials or discussions of any kind, are hereby prohibited both on the pitch and at the sideline.
Aside, those areas, nobody, apart from the players and match officials, will be allowed onto the pitch, before, during and after matches, while only team officials, with specified assignments, will be allowed to sit on the bench.
Movements by personalities, regardless of their positions, around the tunnel enroute the dressing rooms, will no longer be tolerated before, during and after matches, as guests and those occupying those seats, will enter and exit the V.I.P. area through the designated entrances.
Also, the security agencies have been mandated to ensure easy and orderly exit of fans from the mainbowl and the entrances to the mainbowl immediately after a match is over, as loitering around the arena, will no longer be condoned.
For the media, conducting interviews on the pitch or at the sideline, will no longer be accepted, while the post match interviews, usually held inside the tunnel, will now take place at the media stand, after every game.
In addition, any press man without the authorised pass, will not be allowed into the mainbowl, while journalists, fond of sitting outside the designated media stands, I.e. the state box, have been warned to desist from doing so, or face the consequence.
Enttrance into the mainbowl will be opened for those who have purchased their tickets as from 2.30pm, with fans expected to take their leave immediately after each game.
