Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the State House of Assembly.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, made this known in a signed statement, saying Governor Sanwo-Olu signed the document tagged: “Bill for a Law to Impose and Charge VAT on Certain Goods and Services” at about 11. 45 am after returning from an official trip to Abuja, the Federal Capital.
He added that with the singular act performed by the governor, the Bill had now become a Law.
“Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the House of Assembly.
“The Governor signed the ‘bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services at about 11. 45am today, after returning from an official trip to Abuja.
“By this act, the Bill has now become a Law,” Omotoso stated.
