Rivers Angels storm Cote D’ivoire for WAFU B CAF Champions League qualifiers

Nigeria’s representatives in this year’s CAF women Champions League qualifiers, West Africa region, Rivers Angels, have arrived in Cote d’Ivoire, the venue of the competition.

The tournament which was originally billed to start on 17 July 2021 was later moved to 24 July and will now run till August 4, 2021.

Rivers Angels qualified to represent Nigeria after they emerged champions of the Super 6 playoffs held at Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode.

The team has been in camp getting ready for the competition that will produce 2 teams that will represent the region in Egypt.

The girls from Rivers are placed in group B alongside Hassacass Ladies of Ghana and AS Police of Niger Republic.

The WAFU B tournament will involve 6 teams jostling for the two tickets available for the inaugural edition of the women’s CAF champions league.
