The Plateau State Police Command have rescued a lecturer at the Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Jos (UNIJOS), Professor Grace Ayanbimpe, and her husband who were kidnapped on Monday by gunmen in Jos.

The spokesman of the State Police Command, Ubah Ogaba, confirmed the development, adding that the Professor and her husband were rescued unhurt.

“With the concerted effort of the Police Tactical Team, Plateau State Command, hunters and vigilantes, the kidnapped victims; Prof Grace Ayanbimpe and her husband Mr. Isaac Ayanbimpe, were released unhurt,” Ogaba said.

Rulers’ World reports how the professor was abducted in the early hours of Monday alongside her husband by gunmen who stormed the couple’s residence in Lamingo, Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
