Oyo Non Indigenes Forum Honours Makinde’s Aide, Ige

The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ige has been honoured with the ‘Icon of Peace/Epitome of Unity’ by Non Indigenes Forum of Nigeria under the leadership of Eze (Dr) James Nduka Oramadike, Eze Ndi Igbo of Yoruba land.

In the Certificate of Recognition and Award of Excellence duly signed by its National President, Eze Dr. James Nduka Oramadike, its National Vice-President, Alh. Danjuma Garba Garas – Gerkwa of Ibadan land and its Publicity Secretary – Catechist (Engr.) Ago Elias Awugo respectively, the forum said the award was in recognition of his outstanding performance for humanity, epitome of peace and national unity, philanthrophism and genuine outstanding contribution for socio-economic development of Nigeria.

The forum further explained that based on the above mentioned qualities that Hon. Ige possesses, he merited the award bestowed on him so as to serve as motivation for him to do more for humanity.

In his reaction, Hon. Akeem Ige commended the forum for allowing peaceful co-existence among all ethnic groups that form the group in Oyo state and South West as a whole.

He stressed further that the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has never been biased or marginalised any ethnic group in the state since he came on board, adding that this has reflected in the number of non indigene members he has appointed in his administration.

While appreciating the forum for founding him worthy for the award, he urged them to rally round the Governor to ensure his re-election for second term in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
