It was a moment of praise, worship and thanksgiving at the 2023 annual Christmas Carol service organized by the Oyo State chapter of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
The staff of the agency both serving and retired ones as well as other dignitaries invited for the occasion converged at the NOA secretariat located at opposite government house, Agodi, Ibadan yesterday to offer praises and gratitude to God Almighty for his sustenance in the last one year at the programme which also witnessed Prayers for Nigeria as well as special award presentation to the ALGON Chairman, Oyo State chapter.
Dignitaries at the event were the Chief Host Dr. Olukemi Afolayan who is the Director of Oyo State NOA, her predecessors; Dr. (Mrs) Dolapo Dosunmu and Mr Kayode Odedokun, while representatives from top agencies like the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Public Complaints Commission, Commissioner of Police and State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) and many others were also in attendance.
The State Director NOA, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan in her welcome speech urged everyone to be steadfast in the fight against corruption and pray to move Nigeria to greater heights.
“Despite the many situations bedeviling the country in terms of economic meltdown and inflation, it is essential we unite with this season of love to help each other as individuals and nation to fight through this period to achieve a better Nigeria.” She said
The Chairperson of the occasion, Dr. Dolapo Dosunmu in her special address also charged everyone to live through the Christmas season with love as likened with the birth of Jesus Christ who came to the world to share divine blessings with the world.
Mrs Dosumu who is the former Director, NOA also advised everyone to live together with one another in good spirit to fight through this hard but temporary period in the Nigerian system.
She passionately appealed to everyone to be their brother’s keeper by living together, to lend a hand to the needy whenever the opportunity arises.
The Chairman of the occasion, Prince Sanda Adesola who is also the Deputy Director NOA, Oyo State also stated that the Christmas Carol organised by NOA is an annual event that has been in existence for the past few years with the sole purpose of marking the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
