Ogo Oluwa/Surulere Federal Candidate, Abioye, Receives Hundreds of APC/Bunvic’s Loyalists Into NNPP Fold

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate for Ogo Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Adegboyega Mathew Abioye has received over 500 loyalists of the incumbent member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dokun Odebunmi (a.k.a. Bunvic) from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the fold of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

The decampees who were members of APC from Ogo Oluwa and Surulere local government areas were received recently at a ceremony which took place at Ajaawa, the headquarters of Ogo Oluwa local government area during the meeting organized to welcome the new entrants and to strategize with party members ahead of the 2023 general election.

While welcoming the decampees led by their leaders, Sunday Adelaja (a.k.a. Lagbaja from Ajaawa), Princess Risikat from Ward 5, Iresaadu and Olugbenga Akanbi (a.k.a. kogbeebo) from ward 7 Surulere local government, Hon. Abioye described their decisions to team up with the NNPP as the best considering the political situation in the State and Nigeria as a whole.

Abioye who described the decampees as heavyweight and strong politicians from the camp of Hon. Odebunmi, hinted that their experience are very necessary to drive the accomplishment of his objectives to win election in the constituency during the forthcoming elections.

Abioye, a two term lawmaker that represented Ogo Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2007 to 2015 pledged to offer the people of the said constituency quality and effective representation at the Green Chamber aimed not only to correct the errors experienced in the past, but also to provide leadership that will offer solutions to the present obstacles and challenges faced by the people of Ogo Oluwa and Surulere federal constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Sunday Adelaja (a.k.a. Lagbaja) who upon defection to NNPP, took up appointment as the Youth leader of Kwankwaso (NNPP Presidential Candidate) Support group for Ogo Oluwa local government, said he and other defectors decided to join forces with Hon. Abioye in his party so as to correct the errors made by politicians in the marginalization of Ogo Oluwa local government by Surulere local government in their federal constituency.

He pointed out that since it is the turn of Ogo Oluwa local government to produce the next Federal House of representative member, they have no alternative than to support the candidacy of Hon. Abioye who is from Ogo Oluwa local government having been tested, trusted and has enough political experience to work with others to rescue Oyo State and Nigeria in general from the present economic and security quagmire.
