NFF treat Super Eagles to local dishes

The Super Eagles camp at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament not only came alive on Saturday night due to the victory over Sudan and the subsequent qualification into the next round but the surprise package from the Nigeria football house, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The NFF had organised for the boys to have a feel of home by providing local dishes for the team, a welcome surprise by the players who wasted no time in settling down to the business of devouring the varieties of Nigerian food on display.

“Yes, you have already listed it all. Eba, Amala, Semo, Fufu, Fried and Jollof Rice with local stew, soup and sauce and varieties of meats and fish was served in camp last night.

“I can’t help you with pictures because we don’t allow phones or cameras at mealtime but it was a great scene to behold last night as the players had a great feel of home and ate food different from what we have been getting here from the organisers since our arrival”, Babafemi Raji, the media officer of the Super Eagles confirmed to Rulers World magazine on Sunday.

“Oh no, no alcohol, why? We have not won the tournament yet. We have only qualified from the group, we can’t afford to lose our head”, the media officer further responded when asked by this reporter if champagne was served at the dinner.

The NFF, working in conjunction with the team’s dietician, has promised to continue providing the players with local dishes for as long as they progress in the competition.
