Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has approved N1.2 billion for the construction of a new lodge in Abuja for incumbent and successive governors.

It was gathered that the building project was also approved by the Oyo State Government’s Executive Council.

The state Commissioner of Public Works and Infrastructure, Daud Sangodoyin, who made the disclosure, said the council approved N1.2 billion to construct a new governor’s lodge at No 2. John Kadiya Close, Asokoro, Abuja.

The commissioner added that the new lodge would provide apartments for governor, deputy governor, chalets, fittings, and furniture, “which would be of modern type;” adding that the old lodge is no longer fit for the governor to stay in.

Sangodoyin assuredly said that the Oyo State Government would complete the building project in six months.
