LGSPB Boss Holds Crucial Meeting With NUP Stakeholders on Pensioners’ Welfare

 

The Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige today deliberated extensively with the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) stakeholders on issues pertaining to the welfare of retired primary school teachers and local government retirees.

While appreciating the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for putting smiles on the faces of senior citizens, the Chairman of the Board, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige said the meeting was convened to put machinery in motion to review the modalities for disbursement of gratuity to beneficiaries to accommodate more retirees based on the recent increase in the monthly payment of pension and gratuity from Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira to Five Hundred Million Naira. Also, to fastrack the disbursement from every four months to three months.

In his contribution at the meeting, the state Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) ,Oyo State Council, Comrade Segun Abatan said all pensioners in oyo state are always praying for the success of the present administration due to all the unprecedented achievements recorded in terms of pensioners’ welfare.

However, the Permanent Secretary , Alhaji Lukman Akinola Muraina stated that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure continuous smooth implementation of government policies by the board.

The meeting had in attendance the state NUP Chairman, Retired Primary School Teachers wing, Comrade Dosu Akinpelu, State NUP Chairman Retired Local Government staff wing, Dr Taiwo Ayanlowo, Secretary Primary School Teachers Wing Comrade Tunji Ogunwale , Director of Administration and General Services , Mr Kehinde Fasola and Establishment Officer Mr Biodun Muraina .
