LG Poll: Caution your children against election malpractice ― Oyo CP tells parents

As residents of Oyo State elect council officials today, the state Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko has advised parents and guardians to warn their children and wards against acts inimical to the smooth conduct of the election.

Onadeko also admonished children and wards to avoid been used by political merchants in scuttling the electoral process as such breaches and violations would be decisively dealt with.

According to her, in compliance with the Nigeria Police Force operational tactics as constitutionally enshrined, tactical and Intelligence apparatus has been strategically deployed to ensure a hitch-free election.

She assured that all constitutionally established election-related laws would be enforced against the backdrop of providing comprehensive security coverage for electoral officers, materials, and the electorate in the state.

She further re-emphasized that the 0600hrs (6 am)- 1500hrs(3 pm) curfew imposed across the 33 Local government areas by the state government is to enable the conduct of the election without hindrance. “Only persons on essential services are exempted from the restriction order”.

While expressing her Command’s gratitude to the good people of the state for their unflinching support and cooperation towards rendering timely and credible information, she pointed out that in case of emergency, the Command could be reached through the emergency control room numbers: 615 (toll-free).
